Culture lives through associations, associations live through their members. That is why the goal for the 2012 competition was to motivate the recruitment of new members and promotion of cultural participation.
To strengthen the member bases of German associations, a new approach was needed. We developed a concept for the funding competition, that has the Kulturstiftung des Bundes pay a reward to participating associations for each new won member. There was also the opportunity of winning a special award, which put emphasis on cooperation between associations. During the first competition so many new members were recruited, that KSB happily decided to host a second edition. As part of the 2016/2017 one, associations were able to win a special award for the most innovative recruitment ideas.
We created a corporate design that was applied to the website and all media surrounding the event. A key task for our design agency was to spread the word to cultural associations in new federal states and tell them about the inherent advantages and opportunities they could gain from participating. We developed digital target campaigns, including a trailer, that were published on blogs and Facebook.
To conduct the competition we developed individual websites from scratch for both the 2012 and the 2016/2017 editions. To facilitate online registration, data administration (including the rendering of dynamic, legally secure PDF documents) and prize money calculations, we designed, developed and programmed complex BackEnd solutions including user administration and statistics tool.
