The Stiftung Forum Recht has a presence in Karlsruhe, Leipzig, and across numerous digital channels. Everything revolves around law and the rule of law. Together with the foundation’s digital team, we developed a campaign for the new digital engagement platform. This gives even more people the opportunity to exchange ideas. All opinions are welcome.
The Forum’s formats for communication and discourse are diverse: from on-site talks with the event-series “Let’s Talk About Rechts!” to the city tours “Recht Stadtlich!” and the travelling pop-up exhibition “Recht – Spielregeln des Alltags” in public spaces throughout Germany, there are loads of opportunities to exchange ideas about law and the rule of law.
The digital participation platform offers everyone in Germany the opportunity to share, learn, and discuss opinions, experiences, and knowledge about law and the rule of law. We adapted the user interface to the new corporate design, produced content for communication, and adapted parts of the user experience of the white label software Dialogbox to the needs of the target groups.
To communicate the possibilities of the participation platform, we considered it essential to highlight the foundation’s overall activities. We therefore developed a campaign built on two pillars: first, the foundation’s public image as a source of general knowledge; second, the participation platform itself. Both pillars are promoted through dedicated campaigns on social media, at the local sites, in the virtual space, and via a wide range of dialogue formats on site.
We adapted the campaign’s visual identity to the foundation’s new corporate design, which was developed in parallel with our work. Six bright colors meet the orange of the mother brand. The slogan “Let’s Talk About Recht!” describes the core of the foundation’s activities: engaging in conversation with each other about law and the rule of law, sharing experiences, exchanging opinions, and acquiring knowledge.
After analyzing the target groups, we revised the UX writing. We designed text formats, microcopy, and functional texts to be clear and user-friendly. Onboarding and navigation were structured to be as simple and fast as possible. The technical framework for this was largely defined by the chosen white-label dialogue software.
The social media campaign poses questions that are important on the participation platform. The platform takes up legal cases from everyday life, explains them, and asks users for their opinions and experiences. “Where does freedom of expression end for you?”, “What to do when things go wrong?”, “Which law do you think is missing?” From the foundation’s wide range of communication formats and the characteristic opinion cards for on-site polls, we have developed a dynamic and versatile key visual. A long stack of cards is built up one after the other and encourages discussion: “Let’s Talk About Recht!” Small vignettes from the various legal topics appear between the cards. This makes the diversity of the topics visible.
