For eight years in Berlin now, he created cinematic images that are characterized by a longing flair and deal with topics such as migration and belonging to a foreign country. A variety of inspiring essays written by Yuval Noah Harari, Christian Rattemeyer, Charles Simic, Eva Hoffman, Rory MacLean, Joseph Kertes, and Romeo Alaeff illuminate a discursive horizon of different perspectives.
In collaboration with Romeo Alaeff and the publishing house Hatje Cantz, our studio designed the cinematic photo book „In der Fremde: Pictures from Home.“ Particularly important in the process was the right color direction of the printed images and the perfect amount of typographic details.
Colors like dark blue used in the continuous text and orange on the cover underline the melancholic shots. His works, which often deal with epistemological, psychological, or sociological issues, are exhibited worldwide. All Pictures: Romeo Alaeff
