Global networking has given rise to all sorts of new architectural models and concepts: 3D-printed buildings, WikiHouses, downloadable building plans, financing through Kickstarter, participative planning processes, and more. We searched the world for pragmatic and innovative concepts, sorting our discoveries into five categories: New Financing and New Practice, Engagement, New Design Standards, Material and Virtual Hardware, and Usability.
We assembled an international team of curators, who compiled our findings from around the globe and subjected them to critical examination. We then published a selection of 64 projects on a blog. These projects are now being shown at a series of seven pop-up conferences.
