The logo shows pieces of paper floating on the winds of change. The modular design can be used to publicize exhibitions both inside and outside the building itself. The diverse color palette lends itself to a variety of themes, from historical memories to happy anniversaries. Lineto’s Circular typeface provides a wide range of weights, styles and variables for the many different applications the museum must be prepared for.
To announce upcoming events, we created a visual system of shapes resembling colorful flags. Stay tuned to see how the HMH project evolves – new participatory exhibition formats are on the way!
In autumn 2021, the HMH took part in the so called Innenstadtdialog of the city of Hanover. For this, we developed a modular exhibition module that invites the city’s residents to share their opinions on changes to the city centre and at the same time brings the Corporate Design of Geschichte unterwegs to the public.
The HMH has been completely closed since November 2023. As many museums in Germany are affected by this phenomenon, the HMH began this major step with a conference on the topic of working without a museums building and without a collection. We were invited to share our experience and how we are dealing with this in two workshop sessions.
We are currently in the process of designing the interim location so that the museum can remain a permanent focal point during the closure period. The location in the immediate vicinity of the old site will be a nucleus for participative formats, small exhibitions and a place to exchange ideas about the history and identity of the city.
